SCEPTICS have described the appearance of Jesus’s face on a barbecue cover as ‘insane’, ‘hysterical’ and some have even said it looks more like Kenny Rogers and Cat Stevens.
The Northern Star last week published a story about how one family discovered their scrunched up barbecue cover resembled the face of Jesus.
Alstonvale resident and cover owner Louise Van Dartel still stands behind her belief in the face as being a sign of blessings to come. She is not alone.
“I had a 97-year-old lady from Casino call me – she couldn’t see the face initially so she put the paper away and later on she had the urge to check the picture again and then she saw it,” Mrs Van Dartel said.
Comments on The Northern Star website have been critical of the barbecue cover with readers saying it is ‘delusional’ and ‘drawing a long bow’.
Mrs Van Dartel knows the cover will have to be moved one day but she might get a professional black and white photo of it so it can be hung on the wall of the family’s house.
