LISMORE City Council has voted to adopt more stringent accounting practices for Goonellabah Sports and Aquatic Centre, the Lismore Memorial Baths, and council's quarry operations.

The motion to shift to cost-centre accounting (CCA), introduced by Cr Greg Bennett, will allow councillors and staff to obtain more in-depth expenditure and revenue data on business units within each of the operations.

Currently the council already uses CCA in its reporting, but the level of detail provided was not satisfactory for councillors.
