Backyard hen houses have just taken a retro revival with the cutest chicken caravans ever, spotted at the Primex Casino field days.

In what must be the cutest retro poultry palace ever, backyard chook lovers were going crazy over this adorable hen house.

At Casino Primex on Thursday, John Rullis from Chicken Caravan was happily showing off what must have been the most adorable piece of farming-related equipment at the whole field day.

Mr Rullis said his display of retro-style hen houses complete with solar-panel powered automation, were perfect for anyone keeping backyard chooks.

He said the quality caravans they are not only predator proof, they are also high quality and light enough to be easily moved around the garden by hand or hooked up to your ride on mower as needed.

“This Chicken Caravan 10 model has a built-in feeder and drinkers as well as an electronic intelligent control centre that is powered by the sun,” he said,

“The Chicken Caravan 10 is full of automation from letting the hens out in the morning and locking them away at night, auto lights, auto rolloaway nesting boxes so your eggs are always clean.

“And there’s also a thermostatically controlled exhaust fan that cuts in when the internal temperature starts to rise.”

Mr Rullis said the Chicken Caravans can accommodate (in some luxury it would seem), up to 10 ISA Brown hens.

He said while they also manufacture large commercial models, the cute retro caravan has been the talk of the town with visitors stopping to chat.

“It’s $2900 which is great value,” he said.
