Tomorrow, from 8.30am to 9.30am, we will hold our morning news conference at the Mecca cafe at Magellan Street.

This is the meeting where we propose and discuss story ideas and map out our priorities for the day. It is also the meeting where we start discussing the placement of stories in the paper and on the website.

This is a genuine attempt to demystify the news gathering process and offer an insight on why we run stories where we do, while at the same time offering readers a chance to offer their direct input on the stories we do, the way we do them and the placement of those stories.
