THE dust was flying at the Kyogle Showgrounds on Saturday night, as almost 1000 people gathered for the annual Bull Ride Spectacular.

And there was no shortage of action to keep them entertained.

With 90 riders signing up for events, competition was fierce.

Taking out the prized Barry Fuller Memorial Shield in the open bull ride was Glen Lefoe.

He beat several top bull riders to win the event, including Kyogle’s own Danial Piggott, Greg Makejev from Bonalbo, and Cameron Burn from Warwick.

Junior Bull Ride winner was Jeffery Moretto, with Jackson Felton taking out the Junior Steer section.

There were no scores in the novice or the NRA Poddy Ride categories.

Although the riding was the focus of the night, there was also music and entertainment from Mick Oberlee.

The Bull Ride Spectacular is one of the most popular events on the Kyogle calendar.

It is also a fundraiser, and this year raised several thousand dollars for the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter, Kyogle Rugby League, Kyogle SES, and other community organisations.
