A Lismore man who accessed child abuse material is soon set to learn his fate.

Grant Steven Estreich, 58, appeared in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday, pleading guilty to one count of using a carriage service to access child abuse material.

A secondary charge of using a carriage service to access child abuse material was withdrawn, as indicated by

Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions prosecutor Peter Agoth.

Police will allege the offence occurred between August 23 and October 8 last year in Lismore and elsewhere in NSW.

Estreich was later arrested by Richmond Police and charged on October 8 about 2.45pm, agreed facts state.

The offence carries a potential 15 year sentence.

He will head to Lismore District Court for sentence mention on August 22 and remain on bail until that date.
