LISMORE City and Clarence Valley councils will share in more than $90,000 in funding to improve accessibility to parks and beaches for people with disability.

LISMORE City and Clarence Valley councils will share in more than $90,000 in Federal funding to improve accessibility to parks and beaches for people with disability.

Announcing the funding, Page MP Janelle Saffin congratulated Lismore council on securing $50,000 for its Nesbitt Park ‘All Abilities’ Project and Clarence Valley Council on winning a $43,500 grant for its Lower Clarence Beach Access Project.

“The Government’s Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program funding already has provided a new car park with six accessible parking bays and a one-kilometre-long jogging track is well advanced despite wet weather delays,” Ms Saffin said.

“This new grant will help widen this bitumen track from two to three metres; build an accessible toilet block and pay for a Liberty Swing for children using wheelchairs.” and associated ‘soft fall’ area and fencing.”
