A boutique accommodation and function centre with sweeping views of the Ballina coast has been put up for sale by expressions of interest.
The 8170 sqm property on Shelly Beach Rd at East Ballina was sold to Tom and Emma Lane, the founders of The Farm at Byron Bay, for $3 million in 2017.
It was previously used as a scout and school campsite.
But when it was bought by the Lanes, it underwent extensive renovations and was transformed into The Beach House.
Marketing agents Tony Grbcic and Adam Grbcic from Kollosche Commercial said it was now a one-of-a-kind venue with future development and approval, “lending itself to endless income/revenue opportunities”.
“Private access to the beach, coastal walking and bike tracks, unique, peaceful and secluded headland, spectacular views overlooking Angels Beach,” the online listing states.
“The current improvements provide accommodation for conference centre (250 people); prestige dormitory accommodation for 28 people; approval for an additional 35 people to ‘glamp’ on site, full commercial kitchen and multiple event and function areas.”
Mr Lane told realestate.com.au that he thought the property was a “diamond in the rough” when he first bought it.
“It was rundown and neglected but an amazing block of land looking directly north up the beach,” he said.
“We just new straight away that we had to do something with it.”
Mr Grbcic said the real estate agency had been inundated with inquiries from potential buyers, many from the Northern Rivers and southeast Queensland.
He would not speculate on a price.
Expressions of interest close at 4pm on Thursday, June 10.
