Firefighters extinguish early morning car fire outside gasworks

Emergency services were called a car fire outside the man liquefied gas structure for Lismore early on Sunday morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW Lismore Station Officer David Mooney said a crew were called out at 3.55am.
“Our Alpha pumper crew attended the incident outside the Keen St gasworks,” he said.
“We were on scene at 4am.”
Mr Mooney said the vehicle appeared to be fully alight when the firefighters arrived.
He said the gasworks was a key supplier of liquified petroleum gas to some key local businesses.
“The firefighters were at the scene of the car fire until 4.20am,” he said.
Firefighters wearing full PPE including breathing apparartus quickly extinguished the fire.
It is understood that police are investigating the incident.
