Fire destroys house near Murwillumbah overnight
Firefighters arrived to find the home well alight, taking two hours to bring it under control.

A house was destroyed by fire near Murwillumbah last night.
Murwillumbah Fire & Rescue NSW was called to reports of a house fire at 8.35pm on Friday at Upper Crystal Creek.

he firefighters from Fire & Rescue were first on the scene and found a house well alight, and donned breathing apparatus before fighting the fire in a defensive mode.
On arrival of the NSW Rural Fire Service, water was relayed to the Fire & Rescue pump to continue firefighting and RFS joined firefighting operations.
After approximately two hours the scene was left with the RFS and FRNSW returned to station.
Also in attendance were HAZMAT from Fire and Rescue NSW, Fire & Rescue Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah Rural Fire Brigade, Chillingham Rural Fire Brigade, Tyalgum Rural Fire Brigade, NSW Ambulance, NSW Police Force and Essential Energy.
NSW Ambulance attended the scene, however no patients were treated or transported to hospital.
