IF YOU are driving along Conway Street you may have noticed roadworks now blocking off the road at the Dawson Street roundabout.

The situation looks set to persist for six to eight weeks.

The roadworks situated on Conway Street and between Dawson and Keen Streets have limited access to well known grocer Farmer Charlies, Brad's Butchery and Network Video.

All three business have impressed onto customers that they are still open for business.

The closure affecting Farmer Charlies is during stage one of roadworks in August.

Traffic control will be as follows:

  • Detour via McLennan Lane (this includes access to Farmer Charlies).
  • On-street parking in McLennan Lane will be restricted to the southern side only.
  • Access to Little Keen Street will be from McLennan Lane only.

Customers are now required to enter from McLennan Lane with parking on the street available and orange cones dividing the one way driveway past Farmer Charlies into a two way.

Access to the TAFE main entrance is still accessible from Keen Street although staff parking appears to be have been moved to Hampton Street entrance.

The roadworks are said to have cost $700,000 and are funded by Lismore City Council.

The project is due to be completed by mid-September.
