'Don't run from police dogs': One guy learnt the hard way
A MAN wanted for questioning was taken to hospital for treatment to a puncture wound after trying to run from a police dog.

UPDATE 12.45pm: A POLICE dog has helped to apprehend a man police had been looking for since last week.
South Lismore man Heath Jamison Baird was taken to Lismore Base Hospital overnight after Richmond Police District released an image of him last Friday.
Police saw Mr Baird on Leycester St, Lismore about 10.30pm on Sunday.
He allegedly began running over fences, but police dog Ken was used to locate him.
Mr Baird was arrested and refused bail, to face Lismore Bail Court on Monday.
A breach of bail conditions including drug and alcohol restrictions and reporting to police was established and he was again refused bail.
He's lodged no pleas for his charges of contravening an apprehended violence order, resisting police and common assault.
Police had initially made a call for information about his whereabouts after a "serious incident" last week.
They had alleged he was "aware" police were looking for him.
He's expected to face Lismore Local Court again on Tuesday.
Original story: A POLICE dog has helped in the arrest of a man after police made a public appeal for assistance.
Richmond Police District officers had released an image of an South Lismore man, 39, last week.
Inspector Susie Johnston said police attended Leycester St, Lismore about 10.30pm yesterday when they saw the person of interest.
"(He) then began running over fences and the police dog was utilised ... to locate (the person of interest)," she said.
"The dog had tracked him.
"There was a violent struggle where (the man) has been bitten to the right forearm."
She said he was treated for a puncture wound at Lismore Base Hospital.
He's facing charges of contravening an apprehended violence order, resisting police and common assault.
He was bail refused to face Lismore Bail Court today.
Insp Johnston warned there was a lesson from the man's injuries: "Don't run from the police dogs".
