Delays on Bruxner Highway after truck and ute smash near Casino
A 43-year-old man has been taken to Lismore Base Hospital after a crash involving a truck caused significant traffic delays in northern NSW this morning. Here’s what we know.

A crash in the states north involving a Pantech truck and a Toyota HiLux ute has been causing significant traffic delays on the Bruxner Highway near Casino.
A small army of emergency services vehicles including NSW Police and NSW Ambulance were called to the highway near Pelican Creek Rd at South Gundurimba around 6.30am on Wednesday.
Officers attached to Richmond Police District arrived to find a utility and truck had collided.
NSW Ambulance assessed the 45-year-old driver of a Pantech truck who did not sustain any major injuries.
Police subjected him to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.
The driver of the ute, a 43-year-old man was assessed for back, shoulder and head injuries.
He was transported to Lismore Base Hospital.
Firefighters, Richmond Valley Council workers and tow trucks have also been at the scene.
The highway is partially closed and vehicles are being allowed to pass the crash site in single file.
Police from Richmond Police District have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
