Community to quiz council candidates

LISMORE’S business community will get the chance to quiz candidates for next month’s Lismore City Council election at a special breakfast meeting next week.

LISMORE'S business community will get the chance to quiz candidates for next month's Lismore City Council election at a special breakfast meeting next week.

The Breakfast Before Business meetings are a regular fixture for members of Lismore's Chamber of Commerce, but the one planned for the Lismore Workers Club next Tuesday morning will include a visit by the people asking for your votes at the council election.

Currently existing councilors Jenny Dowell, Graham Meineke, Isaac Smith, Simon Clough, Neil Marks, and Vanessa Ekins are expected to attend the breakfast, along with candidate Greg Murphy.

The meeting will give candidates a chance to outline their vision for the city and allow members of the audience to put questions to them directly.

The list of candidates will not be finalized until the close of nominations tomorrow afternoon. Other candidates are invited to contact the chamber by emailing admin@lismorechamber.com.au or calling 0448 833 806 and come along to the meeting.

Anyone wanting to go to the meeting will have to register. Tickets to the meeting are $25 each for Chamber of Commerce members or $35 for non-members.
