A number of roadworks projects will get under way from this weekend on the Northern Rivers.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control. Transport for NSW has thanked motorists for their patience.

These are some of the closures and delays that drivers can expect:
St Helena Tunnel
Scheduled maintenance is due to take place in the Pacific Motorway tunnel from Sunday, May 16 until Tuesday, May 18. The tunnel will be closed in both directions from 7pm until 5am.
Northbound diversion: Bangalow Rd then follow detour signage to Hinterland Way; continue along Hinterland Way to rejoin the M1 at Myocum Rd. Southbound: Ewingsdale Rd then follow detour signage to Hinterland Way; continue along Hinterland Way to rejoin the M1 via Bangalow Rd.
Yelgun
There will be changed overnight traffic conditions on the Pacific Motorway north of the Yelgun interchange to carry out concrete slab replacement work. One southbound lane of the motorway will be closed overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 18 and 19, while existing concrete pavement is removed and replaced, providing a smoother, safer and longer lasting surface for motorists. Work will be carried out from 6pm to 3am finishing at 3am on Thursday, May 20, weather permitting.
Ballina
Maintenance work will be conducted on the Pacific Motorway, north of Ballina near Emigrant Creek, on Tuesday, May 18. One southbound lane will be closed overnight for repairs to the highway surface, ensuring it remains in a good and safe condition. Work will start at 6pm on May 18 and finish by 3am on Wednesday, May 19, weather permitting.
Tweed Heads
Motorists are advised of changed overnight traffic conditions on the Pacific Motorway near the South Tweed Heads interchange to carry out concrete slab replacement work. Existing concrete pavement on the northbound lanes of the Pacific Motorway will be removed and replaced from Sunday, May 23, with traffic diverted onto Darlington Drive. To minimise impact to motorists work will be carried out overnight from 6pm to 3am from Sunday to Thursday, finishing at 3am on Friday, July 2, weather permitting. No work will be carried out on Friday or Saturday nights.
