Casino: Man and woman injured in crash at intersection of Canterbury, Colches streets, police appeal

Two people remain in a critical condition following a crash between a car and ute in the Northern Rivers region, as police appeal for information.

Police are appealing for witnesses of a serious road crash that left two critically injured people in hospital in the Northern Rivers region.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the accident between a red Honda Jazz and a white Isuzu D-Max dual cab utility at the intersection of Canterbury Street and Colches Street in Casino at 7.45am on Wednesday.

Paramedics treated two passengers of the Honda, a 78-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman, at the scene before they were taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a critical condition.

The man was later flown to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A 50-year-old female driver of the Honda and the 52-year-old sole female occupant of the Isuzu suffered minor injuries.

Both were also taken to Lismore Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit have urged anyone who was in the vicinity of the crash, has information or dashcam footage of the incident to contact Casino Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
