A man is lucky to be alive after his car plummeted 70m down an embankment and rolled multiple times.
Emergency services were called to Cooradilla Rd at Burringbar in the Mooball National Park shortly after 2.15pm on Tuesday.
An Ambulance New South Wales spokesman said an 18-year-old man was the only person in the car when it went 70m down and embankment and then rolled multiple times.
“He complained of back and leg pain and has since been transported to Tweed Heads Hospital in a stable condition,” the spokesman said.
Rural Fire Service Inspector Angela Daly said volunteer firefighters from Burringbar Fire Brigade attended the crash.
“The incident occurred on a road in the national park not far from Burringbar, who were first on scene,” she said.
“Tweed Coast Fire Brigade were also on the road to assist but were not required.”
Ms Daly said a passer-by also helped the teen.
