Bruxner Highway crash: Man suffers abdomen and chest injuries

Emergency services were called to the scene on the Bruxner Highway shortly before 2am and a man has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash on the Bruxner Highway near Casino this morning.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were called to the scene about 1.45am on Wednesday.

A black Suzuki Swift had crashed into a power pole.

The spokesman said a man in his 20s was treated by paramedics for chest and abdomen injuries.

He said the man was taken to Lismore Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A NSW Police spokeswoman officers spoke with the injured man, who was the driver of the vehicle, before he was taken to hospital.

The spokeswoman said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Essential Energy attended the scene to isolate the power and the vehicle was towed.

Police inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
