Blaze Scott-Hutchinson sentenced after bashing woman at Lennox Head
A Northern Rivers man has been sentenced after he ‘drove a woman’s head into the tiled floor’ in an alcohol fuelled rage.

A man has been sentenced after he punched a woman several times and called her a “dog piece of s***” in an alcohol-fuelled rage.
Blaze Scott-Hutchinson, 30, appeared by audiovisual link where he pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm and contravening his apprehended violence order at Lismore Local Court on Monday.
Scott-Hutchinson was in custody following an incident which caused a female victim to suffer a bleeding nose and a large haematoma to her eyebrow.
According to facts tendered to the court the 30-year old “consumed several alcoholic beverages” with a woman at the Lennox Point Hotel at around 11.30pm on Monday May 30.
The facts state they returned to their accomodation at the Lennox Beach Resort before a heated argument began over the “failure to quickly pour” Scott-Hutchinson a drink.
The accused lost his temper when the woman tried to call a relative after the argument.
A fight ensued where Scott-Hutchinson punched the victim “in the face several times before she fell to the ground”.
Magistrate Jeff Linden elaborated on the incident telling the court the 30-year old grabbed the woman’s head and “drove it into the tiled floor several times calling her a dog piece of s***”.
Police facts state Scott-Hutchinson left the the location in his car before the woman called the police.
He turned himself into Ballina Police Station the next day.
Scott-Hutchinson’s solicitor revealed to the court his client’s ongoing mental health issues and that he was “adjusting” to his prescribed antidepressants.
“He has had time to reflect on the incident and he is fully aware that he has to be abstinent from alcohol,” the solicitor said.
He was convicted and was sentenced to an intensive corrections order for 15 months.
