Asbestos illegally dumped at Jiggi quarry

WASTE containing asbestos has been illegally dumped at Jiggi, and now Lismore City Council is out to find who was behind the act.

WASTE containing asbestos has been illegally dumped at Jiggi, and now Lismore City Council is out to find who was behind the act.

Council posted this message, along with photos, on their Facebook page today:

"Last Wednesday our officers attended the quarry on Gwynne Rd following reports of dumped rubbish. After inspecting the dumped packages it was found that they contained asbestos. We haven't 't able to identify where the asbestos came from - can you help. Please contact Lismore City Council on 1300 87 83 87 if you have any information that would help us in identifying the people responsible."

Anyone with information should  come forward.
