Rumours have been circulating for some time that popular roaming pizza joint Il Carretto may soon come to Lismore.
And it seems they have some truth, with a development application lodged for 48 Wyrallah Rd, East Lismore, the site of the former bakery Crustys.
Il Carretto was popular among pizza fans, who line up for the delicious treats on selected nights at Bexhill Hall and Clunes shop.
The DA says the business will operate as a takeaway store from 6.30am-1pm weekdays and sell pizzas on selected nights from 5-8pm.
It proposed selling quick, easily made food such as sausage rolls, pies, bagels, premade sandwiches, and sweets, all in environmentally friendly takeaway containers.
The applicant said “there was huge demand for a modern coffee and food premises in East Lismore”.
No major building works were proposed for the site, other than a $15,000 fit out of the store.
