A horrific farming accident has claimed the life of a man near Casino

A man has died in a horrific farm accident at a property at Piora near Casino. The man, believed to be in his late 60s, was trapped underneath a plough at the back of his tractor.

A man has died in a horrific farm accident in the Northern Rivers on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to a property at Piora, on the Bruxner Highway west of Casino around 1.30pm after reports of a farm accident.

Upon arriving on the scene paramedics located a man trapped underneath a plough at the rear of his tractor.

The man believed to be in his late 60s was crushed under the attachment.

Emergency crews spent considerable time trying to save the man yet injuries to his chest and abdomen were incompatible with life.

He died at the scene. No further information is available at this time.
