69-year-old delivery contractor dies in South Lismore

A 69-year-old man has died at a business in South Lismore. Here is what happened.

The death of an independent contractor delivering goods to a South Lismore business has shook the close-knit community in the states north.

Emergency services were called to Norco Animal Nutrition on Kraus Ave, South Lismore about 3.12pm on Wednesday after staff found the man allegedly having a medical episode.

Officers from Richmond Police District attended the scene shortly after and found staff had commenced CPR on the man.

Police assisted in the continuation of CPR until NSW paramedics arrived.

Paramedics assessed the 69-year-old man, and implemented additional lifesaving measures.

Yet even with their best efforts, the man could not be revived and unfortunately died at the scene.

It is understood the man is not a local resident.

Police have notified SafeWork NSW and a formal report into the death is currently being prepared for the coroner.
