49-year-old man dead in Wollongbar, near Lismore after car crash

A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a car in the Northern Rivers last night.

The 49-year-old died after he was struck on Lismore Road, Wollongbar, at about 11.30pm.

The driver of the car – an 18-year old man – was unharmed and underwent testing.

Officers from Richmond Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics responded following reports of the incident.

The man died at the scene and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the tragic crash.

The fatality comes just three days after a 17-year-old man died after a fatal collision in Casino.
