A baby boy has been rushed interstate after being badly burned when he is believed to have fallen into a fire pit on the state’s north coast.
Emergency services were called to an address in Iluka, 42km north of Yamba, about 6pm on Monday.
NSW Ambulance paramedics tended to the 10-month-old, who had suffered serious burns to his chest, hands, and face.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s critical care medical team stabilised the infant, who was then flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
