‘Kind and beautiful soul’ probably asleep before fatal crash
THE 18-year-old driver of a car that slammed into a power pole killing a 17-year-old girl and injuring two others has been charged with several serious offences over the crash in Western Sydney early Sunday.

A TEENAGER killed when the car she was a passenger in slammed into a power pole in Western Sydney early on Sunday has been remembered as a “kind and beautiful soul” by her friends.
The 17 year old girl had apparently fallen asleep in the back seat and slipped under her seatbelt before the accident.
Police have charged the 18-year-old male driver with a string of serious offences that allegedly led to the crash which also left two other teenage girls in hospital with injuries.

Police said the Mazda 6 was mounted a kerb and collided with a pole at the corner of Eggleton and Garden streets in Blacktown at 5.30am.
“All four passengers were wearing seatbelts at the time … (The teen who was killed) was lounging down in the back seat and appears to have slipped through,” Chief Inspector Trevor Peterson said.
Grieving friends paid tribute to the girl on social media, describing her as a “kind and beautiful soul” and “gorgeous”.
The car’s driver, 18-year-old was taken to hospital with minor injuries. A 15-year-old girl was taken to Westmead Hospital with a skull fracture, while a 17-year-old girl suffered minor injuries.
Police allege the vehicle was travelling north on Garden Street when it mounted the kerb near the Anthony Street intersection and crashed.
The driver was released from hospital today and charged at Parramatta Police Station with:
■ Dangerous driving occasioning death
■ Dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm (x2)
■ Negligent driving occasioning death
■ Negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm
■ P1 driver under 25 drive at night with more than one passenger under 21 years and not give particulars to police
■ He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 16 October 2018).
