Comanchero boss Mark Buddle’s plans of reaping in millions of dollars from a “tax”’ on drug imports appears to have failed.

The exiled bikie boss sent an encrypted message to a number of Sydney Crime syndicates 18 months ago declaring he was establishing a “commission’’ which he would head.

At the time Buddle said anyone wanting to import drugs into Australia via the Harbour City would have to pay a “stamp”.

In return their delivery and transportation of the drugs would be protected.

He argued that the scheme was to make everyone rich and protect them from diving drug prices at the time, caused by the Covid pandemic.

“To ALL Main Players in Aus and Abroad all who land work in Sydney/NSW. As of 2021, there will be a Sydney commission,” the message read and detailed the falling prices of cocaine and ice at the time.

“This is because there is NO STRUCTURE, no rules, no reasoning and to be honest there’s NO SENSE,’’ his message said. Soon after there was talk of some beatings of people who did not pay the “stamp’’ on drug importations.

A number of underworld sources were furious at the time and NSW Police were also concerned it would cause enormous conflict in the underworld.

“Honestly, no one is talking about the commission now,’’ said one underworld source.

“At first there was some shit on the street, but it all seems quiet when it comes to tax being paid,’’ he said.

Other sources said the same thing.

“It never took off … for a start he was never going to charge his mate Eric (Erkan Keskin) from the (Lone Wolf bikies) and they were moving a lot of gear into Sydney at the time of the proposed commission,” said another underworld source.

“There would be a lot more trouble on the streets between the Commos and other groups if it was a thing. Everyone would be bitching and moaning,” he said.

Buddle’s friend Keskin, 44, died from a suspected heart attack in Turkey in February and was one of the country’s most feared crime figures, believed to be behind more than six underworld executions and was still in control of the Lone Wolf bikie gang despite fleeing Australia in 2019.

Keskin, a father of four, who lived in Dubai and then Turkey was importing large amounts of drugs into Australia and ruled his organisation through fear.

Another underworld source said the commission didn’t come to fruition because there was nothing to tax as there was a shortage of cocaine at the time.

Buddle left Australia around 2015 and is believed to be living in Turkey.
