Homicide detectives release new CCTV in hunt for David Khou’s killers
Police have released chilling new CCTV footage showing David Khou being chased moments before his murder in Sydney’s west nearly a year ago.
Homicide Squad detectives have released new CCTV footage as they appeal for information nearly one year after the murder of organised crime figure David Khou in Canley Heights.
Emergency services were called to Sutherland St about 6.50pm on December 29, following reports of a shooting.
David Khou was shot multiple times while he was sitting in his car in Sutherland St at Canley Vale outside his family home when a man dressed in black walked up and fired through the passenger’s window.
A short time later, a stolen Audi linked to the incident was found alight on Bathurst St in Wakeley.
Khou was an organised crime figure and was a member of a new gang emerging in the southwestern suburbs called Bloodline.
The crime syndicate is made up of Islander and Asian criminals involved in the drug trade, but also has links to Outlaw Motor Cycle Gangs as well as Asian crime groups which police believe may be a motive for the shooting.
Less than 24 hours after Khou’s death, police in Cecil Hills stopped a grey Jeep Cherokee they believe was used as a second getaway car and arrested the driver, a 33-year-old Bossley Park man.
The man has since been arrested and charged in connection with the case and remains before the courts.
As inquiries continue, police have released CCTV footage of a man they are seeking to identify.
Investigators believe he may have interacted with two offenders as they set fire to the stolen Audi in Wakeley.
The man is not suspected of involvement in the murder.
Additional footage shows the stolen Audi being prepared for the shooting in the hours before it took place.
The vehicle is seen travelling in convoy with a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee from Dalpra Crescent in Bossley Park to the Fairfield West area about 2am on the day of the attack.
Further CCTV captures moments leading up to Mr Khou’s death, showing an unknown offender chasing him across St Johns Rd in Cabramatta West before fleeing in a white Audi.
Police say the two alleged offenders later set the Audi ablaze in Wakeley, with CCTV from Smithfield Rd showing the pair running toward a nearby carpark before leaving in a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen the two offenders on St Johns Rd in Cabramatta West or in the Wakeley area on December 29, 2024 to come forward.
Police claim Khou had significant links to Asian organised crime networks and was involved in the drug trade.
Police urge anyone with information or footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
