A woman and a girl aged just 18 months are lucky to be alive after a nasty northern NSW rollover crash, which left the driver suffering an array of limb fractures.
Emergency services were called Wooli Rd, Pillar Valley, 18km east of Grafton after reports of the single-vehicle crash about 6pm on Sunday.
Coffs/Clarence Police District were told the blue Kia Sportage left the road and crashed into a driveway entrance before rolling and landing on its roof in an adjacent paddock.
Those first on scene rushed to help and found the woman trapped inside the car.
The 18-month-old girl was fortunate to escape injury. The driver was helped from the vehicle and treated for multiple lower limb fractures by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
They contacted the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and the woman was treated further by the chopper crew’s critical care medical team.
The driver was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, while the little girl was taken to the same hospital for assessment.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
