Rex named best regional airline on traveller survey

REGIONAL Express (Rex) has been voted by the Australian Traveller Readers' Choice Awards Survey as the best Australian regional airline for the second time.

Rex won the same category in 2011, the awards' inaugural year; and was a finalist in 2012.

The Australian Traveller Readers' Choice Awards Survey, conducted over three months, saw more than 1100 readers nominate what they consider to be the best travel-related experiences in Australia.

At the awards ceremony held yesterday in Sydney, Rex was chosen as the top regional airline ahead of three other finalists - QantasLink, Virgin and Jetstar.

Honoured to receive the award on behalf of Rex was chief operating officer Garry Filmer.

"To be held in such high esteem by our very own passengers is incredibly encouraging and we are very proud to have our passion for delivering safe, reliable and quality regional air services acknowledged in this way," he said.

Rex is the only private operator that flies out of Grafton Airport.
