Sam Lynch’s family rally to support him outside court

The family of a man accused of shooting a teenager earlier this year have shown their support outside the courthouse.

Family and friends of a man accused of shooting a teenager in South Grafton earlier this year have appeared outside Grafton Courthouse to show their support.

Bundjalung man Samuel Lynch, 31, has been charged with acquiring a pistol subject to firearms prohibition order, shoot at with intent to murder, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Police allege Mr Lynch shot a 15-year-old boy and assaulted the boy’s 45-year-old father on Camelia Way in South Grafton about 8.50pm on July 10.

The man and teenager have since recovered from their injuries.

Mr Lynch has not yet entered a plea and was in custody on remand when he appeared in Court via audiovisual link.

His sister Kayla Puha was at Grafton Local Court with other family members and friends on Monday to watch a mention of her brother’s charges.

The group painted two large canvas murals, both of which said “free the dove” in reference to Mr Lynch.

Mr Lynch’s matters were adjourned for him to appear before Grafton Local Court in November.
