Police are still on the lookout for a man who is wanted in relation to a shooting in South Grafton on Saturday night.
Coffs/Clarence police said emergency services responded to reports of shooting in Camelia Way South Grafton around 8.50pm.
The police officers secured a crime scene as NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 15-year-old boy on scene for a gunshot wound to the torso.
They also treated his 45-year-old father for a head injury that police alleged occurred following an assault.
Both men are currently in a stable condition with neither injury believed to be life threatening.
At around 11am on Sunday, Coffs/Clarence police alongside tactical operations officers and negotiators conducted an operation at the Hilltop Motel, west of Grafton on the Gwydir Highway.
They surrounded the premises and conducted inquiries believed to be linked to the shooting incident from the night before, before leaving around 4pm.
A spokesman for the Hilltop Motel said that guests were not allowed to leave the motel for the duration of the operation.
Those in rooms not related to the operation were taken to a safe part of the motel out of the way, and were given food while the police operation continued.
Police say a search continues for a man who can assist police with their inquiries.
