Man charged over South Grafton shooting earlier this month

30-year-old will face court on two charges after police located him in Queensland

A man wanted over an alleged shooting in South Grafton has been found in a park in Coomera, on the northern Gold Coast.

It comes following an arrest warrant after a 15-year-old boy was shot, and his 45-year-old father was assaulted in Camelia Way South Grafton around 8.50pm on July 10.

After extensive inquiries, on Monday 2pm, officers from the Coomera Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) arrested a 30-year-old man at a park on Parkvista Circuit by virtue of an outstanding NSW arrest warrant.

He was taken to Southport watch-house, as detectives from Coffs/Clarence Police District travelled to Queensland where they applied for and were granted the 30-year-old’s extradition to NSW.

On Wednesday, he was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with shoot at with intent to murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today (Thursday).

Both the boy and man have recovered from their injuries.
