Maclean TAFE security guard surrounded by teenage group after asking them to leave premises

Police are using CCTV footage of incident last week to identify and interview people over alleged incident

Police are continuing to investigate a group assault on a security guard in Maclean last week.

According to Coffs/Clarence police, a 54-year-old security guard approached a group of five people aged 13-15 at the Maclean TAFE building, asking them to move on from the grounds.

The allege the group circled him, and proceeded to punch him, forcing him onto the ground.

He suffered minor injuries, and is believed to have attended Maclean Hospital following his shift. He suffered abrasion to his forearm, and a haematoma to the left side of his face.

Police have several leads and have begun investigations, and are using CCTV footage provided to identify and interview those responsible for the attack.
