Man in his 20s goes missing after crashing 4WD near Grafton

The search for a man in his 20s who went missing after crashing his 4WD has been ended, with police finding the man safe and well.

A young man who went missing in a river in Northern NSW late on Sunday night has been located.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District were called to Kangaroo Creek, 35km south of Grafton, at 10.20pm on Sunday following reports a 4WD had crashed.

When police arrived, a white Toyota Landcruiser had driven off the road and slid down the embankment before coming to a stop on the edge of the river.

Police saw the man near the vehicle before he entered the river.

The involved local police, officers from Police Rescue Lismore, members of the SES and the PolAir and dog unit.

A member of the public located the 26-year-old man near Kangaroo Creek about 9.15am on Tuesday.

He has been assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Grafton Hospital for further assessment.
