Man in 50s dead after surf at Brooms Head
A surfer believed to be in his late 50s has drowned off the NSW North Coast after attempts to revive him were unsuccessful. Here’s what unfolded.

A man believed to be in his late 50s has drowned at Brooms Head after suffering a medical episode while surfing.
Around 3pm on Thursday emergency services were called to the Brooms Head Caravan Park after reports a man had drowned and been pulled out of the water.
Members of the public performed CPR on the man until paramedics arrived.
They were assisted on scene by a Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
The man was declared deceased a short time later.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
