Helicopter called as van flips repeatedly on Pacific Highway

The driver of a van has been flown to hospital after his van left the Pacific Highway early Thursday evening.
In an ominous start to the holiday season on the roads, Coffs/Clarence police said the man was driving southbound near the Yamba interchange on the Pacific Highway when he left the road and the van flipped several times.
The driver, who is believed to be the only occupant of the vehicle managed to free himself from the vehicle.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called by NSW Ambulance, who attended along with police and other emergency services.
His injuries are unknown are still unknown at this time.
The highway was intermittently closed, with large traffic delays still being experienced in the area.
