VOLUNTEERS from the Clarence-Nambucca SES region attended 12 calls for assistance yesterday afternoon, with the majority being in Grafton and one each for Copmanhurst and Carrs Creek.
SES Region Learning and Development Officer Darryl Bailey said large hailstones caused damage to skylights and several trees were knocked down in the wind.
"It's quite surprising there wasn't more damage considering the size of those stones," he said.
