A change in their usual lottery buy led this couple to a huge Scratchie win and they already have a plan for their takings.

A Grafton couple is fuelled with excitement after scratching their to a $100,000 win this week.

The windfall came from a $5 Instant Scratch-It bought from Grafton Shoppingworld News.

And they’re going to use the money to buy a brand-new car for the first time in his life.

“I’m still getting over the shock!” the man laughed.

“My wife decided to buy a few tickets, ones we’ve never played before.

“A couple of days later we decided to scratch them.

“When I scratched the ticket my mouth just about fell open.

“I couldn’t believe it! It was such an exciting win.”

The couple are retirees, and the man said their retirement plans were going to get more exciting putting the win towards a new four-wheel drive.

Grafton Shoppingworld News owner Rose Driver said she was thrilled for their latest winner.

“This man was just so happy when he came in and checked his ticket,” she explained.

“We were so glad to be part of the journey.”
