THE South Australian soldier killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan has been farewelled by friends and family in Lyndoch.

THE South Australian soldier killed by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan has been farewelled by friends and family in Lyndoch.

Corporal Scott Smith was killed on October 21 during a raid on a compound believed to be used by insurgents.

The 24-year-old soldier, who was on his second tour of Afghanistan, is survived by his partner Liv, his parents Katrina Paterson and Murray Smith and sister Roxanne.
