STILL BLOOMING: This year marks the Jacaranda Festival’s 80th birthday.

THE city of Grafton is looking for someone to fill the role of Jacaranda Festival committee secretary.

Your job will include organising the annual event and making it bigger and better than ever before.

The successful applicant will have training and experience in event management, be super-organised and not afraid to rock a purple wig.

You will be energetic and driven, prepared to break tradition - yet respect and embrace it where applicable - and will not shy from trying something different.

You will have a wad of local knowledge and ensure the event appeals to all ages. Yes, that includes food dye, water guns and whipped cream.

With a realistic vision you will move the Jacaranda Festival forward and listen to the community's feedback about how and where to make improvements.

If this sounds like you, Grafton wants to hear from you. Shout your name from the rooftops, form a flashmob in Prince St or send your application to moniquemorrissey@bigpond.com.

Applications close today, Friday.

*Those who apply via Jaca-themed flashmob will be highly considered. (Let us know beforehand so we can come and snap a photo!)

**Actually, we have no idea if you will be favoured if you form a flashmob, but A+ for enthusiasm, right?
