OPTIONS for a cycleway between the South Grafton railway station and the school precinct at Clarenza have been put on public display by Clarence Valley Council.
The 2km long shared cycleway will cost between $1.69 million and $3.5 million to construct - depending on the chosen option.
Mayor Richie Williamson said the main variation in construction costs related to the method used by cyclists to cross the Pacific Highway.
"The options are either a tunnel under the highway, a bridge over it and two others involving traffic lights," he said.
"The most expensive is the bridge, while the cheapest is traffic lights."
The cycleway study is on public exhibition until Friday April 13 and submissions are encouraged by that date.
"We hope to hear from future users, particularly school kids and their families to help gauge the level of support for what will be an expensive piece of infrastructure no matter what route is chosen," the Mayor said.
