Council approves sporting funds

CLARENCE Valley Council on Tuesday approved more than $50,000 in works to various sporting groups throughout the Clarence Valley at its Tuesday meeting based on recommendations from the Clarence Sports Council and the Lower Clarence Sports Council.
The largest of the works include:
- $6000 for a storage shed at Maclean Showground.
- $10,000 to the Grafton Ghosts for covering of seating at Frank McGuren Field (if successful in obtaining a NSW Government grant).
- $5500 to Maclean Football Club for subsoil drainage at Wherrett Park.
- $4625 to the Clarence River Yacht Club to replace existing fencing around the clubhouse with secure fencing.
