Troy Cassar-Daley, Ian Moss to headline Jacaranda entertainment

Iconic duo, including Clarence’s favourite music son, will open Jacaranda Festival’s new entertainment precinct as limited tickets go on sale next week

Two of Australia’s most respected singers, musicians and songwriters, Grafton’s Troy Cassar-Daley and Cold Chisel’s Ian Moss, have been announced to play as part of this year’s Jacaranda Festival.

It will be the first time these two powerhouse guitarists and vocalists have joined forces to tour together and share a stage as part of their ‘Together Alone Tour’ on Sunday 31 October at Market Square.

Festival manager Mark Blackadder said securing the pair was a major coup and a sign of the overall quality this year’s event would deliver.

“Everyone knows and loves Troy, and Ian is an Australian music legend, so to have them play together as part of our program is very exciting,” Mr Blackadder said.

“They will also be the first music concert held in our entertainment precinct in Market Square and will take the audience on a musical journey across their respective careers.

“The Jacaranda Festival is now recognised as an important regional arts festival, so ensuring we continue to attract major acts like Troy and Ian is extremely important.”

Tickets for the all ages event are $65 and will go on sale next Monday until sold out with only 600 available.

“Both men have an affinity to the area as Troy grew up in Grafton so knows the town well, and I’m sure he’ll be excited to catch up with some old friends while he’s here,” Mr Blackadder said.

“Ian also has links to the area as the inspiration for Cold Chisel’s song Flame Trees was keyboardist Don Walker’s memories of Grafton where he had lived when he was young.

“We have plenty of more major announcements to make in the coming months, but this is the perfect one to kick off the entertainment schedule.”

The 2021 festival will run from Friday October 29 to Sunday November 7.
