“He’s a good, honest horse,” trainer Scott Henley said.

“His last few starts, he’s been struggling a bit, but in the last two days he’s come good.”

Jockey Allan Chau, who has won the Maclean Bowling Club Maclean Cup in the past, shared similar sentiments.

“He’s a tough little fella,” he said.

“I just didn’t have enough for him in the alley; I coasted through there the entire trip, but then he put the head down and fought on.”
