Jacaranda spirit still strong despite the delay

The purple flowers might be gone, but the Jacaranda spirit remained strong as large crowds descended on Market Square in Grafton to continue the festival celebrations.
Normally scheduled for the last week of October, first week of November when the Jacarandas are in full bloom, Covid-19 restrictions forced the festival to postpone most events to December.

This year, the Anytime Fitness Jacaranda Thursday event was a smaller affair to what patrons are used to. Compared to previous years Prince Street remained open to traffic and, for the most part, it was business as usual, while all the festivities were contained within the Market Square boundary. But that did little to deter festival goers who continued to pour in as morning turned to afternoon.
Most patrons took advantage of the sideshow events, including the ferris wheel and ring toss, while others listened to the musical line-up, which included Clarence Valley musician Tullara.
And let's not forget the purple ice cream!
