Tell me a little about what you think of the new festival grounds here.

STAV: Love it. It’s a beautiful setting. I think in some ways it’s better than the Byron.

I love Byron as a city but I think as a grounds, here is pretty good.

Have you had much of a chance to check out the surrounds, including the Sunshine Coast?

STAV: Not yet, we’re probably going to have some fun tomorrow and exploring.

We’ll hopefully see some bands tomorrow and then do some exploring.

Where were you playing before coming here?

STAV: Caloundra. We were playing at the Kings Beach Tavern.

How did you find the SC?

STAV: Awesome, it was a lot of fun. We were playing some pop music before a night of heavy metal shows.

It was a secret show, which is why it happened.

We set it up as a rehearsal for today’s show.

Are there some festival essentials?

Bring orange juice in a box, yep.

Are Splendour in the Grass crowds different than other crowds you play in front of?

STAV: It’s a different place from the other times we’ve played, it’s like a mini-Glastonbury.

Compared to other years, maybe fewer people can afford to come to Splendour so maybe the crowds will be a little bit more posh!
