Brendon Palin: Junction Hill man pleads guilty to exposing himself near Grafton Bowling Club

A Clarence Valley tradie set up a swag, got naked and touched himself in clear view of a bowls club in a strange and illegal move to “kill some time” before school pick-up.

A Clarence Valley tradesman decided to set up a swag, get naked and masturbate in clear view of a Grafton bowls club in a bizarre and illegal move to “kill some time” before school pick-up.

Junction Hill man Brendon Palin fronted Grafton Local Court on Monday.

The 30-year-old man pleaded guilty to exposing himself within view of a public place.

Palin drove his father’s car to Kent St, Grafton, around midday on May 12, according to documents tendered to court.

He parked in view of the club and proceeded to remove a swag from the car, placing it parallel with his parked vehicle.

“(Palin) then lays down onto the swag and appears to touch his penis under the covers,” the documents state.

Palin continued for several minutes, kicking off the covers and continued to pleasure himself, with some of his body visibly “naked”.

Police state in the documents: “This was observed by a number of witnesses from the Grafton Bowling Club.”

Once Palin finished, still in sight of the public, he sat up and took off “his pants, shirt and a bra that he was wearing”, replacing them with a new set of clothes before packing up the swag.

Palin hopped back into the driver’s seat of his vehicle and drove off.

But police officers managed to track Palin down and on May 15 they turned up at his Junction Hill home.

Palin made admissions to police about masturbating at the location and said he wanted to “kill some time” before school pick up.

The case was adjourned for a sentencing assessment report to be prepared.

Palin is due to return to the court for sentencing on July 10.
