IT MAY not be a pound of flesh, but Grafton's Denise Whalan has certainly done her share of donating blood.

Denise donated for the 145th time on Wednesday at the Grafton Blood Bank with little fanfare.

"I started donating in 1974 and haven't missed a three-monthly appointment ever since," she said.

Denise will give her 150th donation late next year, and says that will be the last one.

"It's such a great service," Denise said.

"But I think I've certainly done my bit."
