Alleged Nomads bikie faces drug, firearm charges after roadstop
A 42-year-old man, said by police to be a member of the Nomads, is to face Ballina Local Court after a search at Mullumbimby uncovered an alleged haul of weapons and drugs.

An alleged bikie member was undone at a random breath test just after midnight at Mullumbimby when police noticed two children unrestrained in the back seat.
That led to a search of the 42-year-old’s vehicle, where police allegedly located a flick knife, cannabis, methylamphetamine, cash, two extendible batons, knuckle dusters, a loaded .45 calibre revolver, a quantity of cash and multiple rounds of ammunition.
The man and a woman who was also in the car have been charged with drug and firearms offences and are due to appear in Ballina Local Court on Wednesday.
At about 12.40am, officers from Tweed/Byron Police District stopped a Holden Commodore for the purpose of a random breath test on Argyle Street, Mullumbimby.
Police said the driver – an alleged member of the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang – provided a negative breath test result.
But police noticed children were unrestrained in the vehicle.
The driver and his passenger – a 38-year-old woman – were arrested and taken to Byron Bay Police Station.
The man was charged with possess unregistered firearm, possess loaded firearm in public, possess ammunition without a permit, not keep firearm safely, three counts of possess prohibited weapon, supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, two proceeds of crime and unrestrained passengers.
The woman was charged with possess unregistered firearm, possess loaded firearm in public, possess ammunition without a permit, not keep firearm safely, possess prohibited weapon, supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug.
